The Radio Caroline Countdown of Album Sounds

Caroline Countdown 30th August to 13th September

On this brand-new Caroline Countdown we have 22 Climbers, 9 Fallers, 4 non-movers & 5 New Entries. Dropping out are Panic Room, RPWL, Milagres, Kasabian & Royal Southern Brotherhood.

Of the Newbies this week, this is the 5th album from Canadian ‘post-grunge’ outfit ‘Theory of a Deadman’. Manchester’s Courteeners get more polished with every album and the Special Edition of this release features a Live set recorded on home turf at the Castlefield Bowl totalling a whopping 23 tracks. The Roy Mette Band frequently feature at the Cambridge Rock Festival & they chose to launch this new album there a couple of weeks ago. Naturally, Radio Caroline picked up a copy! Sinead O’Connor is back with an excellent new album, as usual, proclaiming her independece of thought and spirit.

Coldplay finally hit the top with their ‘ghost Stories album, which has really grown on us. It has much more quality in depth than ‘Mylo Xyloto’ which was very thin after the brilliant couple of lead tracks.
